Ok, we've had a brag about the size of our MP3 music folders, so how about we have a brag about the size of our Audio book folders. I'm sure I'm not the only audio book collector here, so come on tell us about it.

I currently have 270 GB of books all audio, mostly mp3 some ogg, though I'm slowly replacing them due to personal preference. the mijority of my collection is also at 64 KB, which is my prefered quality for ripping.

I used to have about 60gb, but lost them all due to a harddrive crash. I do have quite a huge collection of books in text format, somewhere in the neighborhood of 3gb though. Unless, old radio plays cvount. In witch case, I currently have about 40gb of audiobooks

I have about 20 audio books all in mp3 of course.

Obviously, I am running a much smaller computer than most of you, so can't brag about size, but I believe that size doesn't really count. ahem.

Anyway, I have a collection of about 250 authors about 1095 books.

This is sad. I only have four audio books on CD, and one on cassette. Gotta get more.

Post 13 by donna p (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 03-Mar-2007 16:51:13

I have about 30 books on audio both cassette and CD. But I plan to get more. I'm just learning about bookshare and will join that when they accept my application. Can anyone explain to me how you download a book. I'm new to this. It seems like it would be a good way to get books and probably cheaper too.

My collection's small. But if it grows as half as fast as my music collection, I'll need 5 terabytes of storage. lol

Post 17 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Sunday, 08-Jul-2007 6:23:01

I have also added Eragon and Eldest to my collection. For Christmas, I've asked for the first four Harry Potter books on CD.

Post 18 by Toonhead71 (move over school!) on Saturday, 29-Sep-2007 2:57:56

Well, my audio book collection isn't the biggest but not as small as some I've heard about. As of this writing my audio books folder is about 25 GB and has about 14 different authors. My largest collection is by Stephen King, with Dean Koontz coming in at a close second. I also have all of the HP books read by Jim Dale, and I'm still working on getting them read by Stephen Fry as well, can you ttell I'm a HP fan? LOL so again, not as big as some, but not as small as others.

ok, ok, so all you people brag about your collections. So I share a computer with my sister, and I am a jaws user. How do i go about starting a collection? I only have two audio books, and I bought them from i tunes. Well my sister did lol. What are some accessable and affordable web sites to download audio books from? Also, I think I'm getting a braille note some time in the future, is there a site, or sites that I can use to either purchase or download books and put them on my braille note? Thanks for the help. Oh, and one more thing, does anyone have the book High Noon by Nora Roberts, in either mp3 format, or on cassette that they can lend me. I'll give it back, I promise lol, and you can trust me with it.

Lol! The computer thing is quite a simple matter. Um, you just need to create another user for your sister.
Yes, for your braille-note, use this site. I am pretty sure you have heard of it before.

thanks, is there a good selection of books?

Post 23 by Siriusly Severus (The ESTJ 1w9 3w4 6w7 The Taskmaste) on Saturday, 02-Feb-2008 13:01:02

I suppose, but it's missing some books. They don't record everything. I am sure you won't die from it. I use it, and it quite satisfies me.
